Xbox 360: Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath Review
Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath is the console version of the latest installment in the Command & Conquer series, picking up the story after the events in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars the story has thirteen extensive missions and once again tweaking the control system to make it more user-friendly for console players.
The story is told, with live action film clips which play out in between missions. Featuring a cast of well-known American television actors (including Natasha Henstridge from Species and Curt Lumbly from Alias) and they do a very good job of introducing newcomers to the complex mythology of Command & Conquer.
From the start of most levels you’ll need to deploy a base somewhere in the environment. Next need to harvest recourses (the green energy substance called Tiberium) so you can fund the ongoing production of various types of forces to assault and conquer the opponent’s base with.
While the control system has been designed specifically for the Xbox 360, it is not perfect and fails to provide the precision and speed that a mouse cursor does. And, with a bit of time and effort the game’s menus and options become very workable in the heat of battle, and it is an improvement on the previous game’s effort.

The addition of a Kane’s Challenge mode, a brand new mode exclusive for the Xbox 360 is a very welcome one, and the ease of Xbox Live make multiplayer matches smooth and straightforward. For gamers who didn’t play Tiberium Wars, I would say it’s probably best to start with that game before venturing into this as you may find the story a little confusing, but for the Xbox 360 owners who put hours into last year’s game, Kane’s Wrath is a great continuation of the story.
